For those of you who've had experience with PPD significantly later than the average bear, please fill me in. What did it feel like? What did you do to resolve it? What distinguishes PPD from the ordinary hormonal weirdness of breastfeeding?
Last night was bad. Hannah was a dream, but I felt awful. I had a headache nearly all day. I had a nauseous tummy and no appetite. I went to bed early but couldn't fall asleep for the life of me because of all the nonsensical thoughts roaming around my head. I finally got up at midnight and wrote in my journal for a bit. That seemed to help some. At least that, and some Benadryl, got me to sleep.
This morning, after an extra hour of sleep thanks to Todd, I feel noticeably better. But I'm still a little weary that the hormone monster might jump out and get me at without notice.
On a slightly related note: Little Miss Katie better hope she never gets PPD, lest her darling Tom wig out on her. What a fruit cake he's turned into!
And on a completely unrelated note: My internet connectivity issue is finally solved!! YAY! Already I feel more productive.
