I considered making the title a teaser to see how many people I could lure over in heart-palpitations to discover what mess I'd gotten myself into. But that seemed mean.

My sister-in-law (she of the one-week-old twins) hemorrhaged last night. She's okay, but lost a good deal of blood. She may need a transfusion today and I'm guessing her husband may need a transfusion of energy and help to get through the next 48 hours with newborn twins and a nearly four-year-old on his own. They think it might have been clots - apparently a common occurrence after a twin delivery.

Our friends had their first baby yesterday. A little boy. I'm off to the hospital to visit (and force my camera on them) this afternoon.
